Torch for the struggling souls

This time, what she brought with her to over 200 rehabilitants wasn't just a sharing session, but an open heart and genuine empathy.

Bridging the Gap through Listening

Looking back on the trip, Dr. Nhu Quynh confided that initially, when she entered this environment, she felt a lot of anxiety and apprehension. She thought the students here would be very reserved and be unwilling to accept her sharing.

However, all those invisible barriers vanished when she listened to their stories and try to see their perspectives. Deep within these people who had weathered life’s hardship was a strong desire for peace, for care and for society to embrace them once again.

Heartfelt Confessions

The simple, heartfelt confessions from the residents left a deep impression:

"I feel healthier, more peaceful and safer in this environment…"

"Today I am happy because I feel cared for…"

Tears welled up as one woman confided: "Now that I'm here, I long every day, every hour, to be reunited with my family."

In particular, a resident's comparison sparked deep thought: "…Even a tiny ant is still an important part of the entire colony. Similarly, even though I've made mistakes, I'm still a part of society…" These confessions are the clearest evidence that, regardless of the past, everyone has the right to hope for a new life and aspires to become a useful member of society.

Spreading Love from Lac Hong University

With heartfelt gratitude to the authorities of Dong Nai province, and with the support and companionship from Lac Hong University, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh concluded the trip with a warm and hopeful message:

"No one can change the past, but everyone can begin to write the future."

Thank you, Dr. Nhu Quynh, for such a beautiful and humane perspective. The trip not only gave value to the community but also inspired us educators about the power of love and sharing!
