On December 11, 2023, leaders of LHU attended and shared experience at a training on methods for measuring the training program's outcome standards and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in designing teaching-learning activities held by the School of Languages and Tourism, Hanoi University of Industry.
An overview of the training session
In his opening speech, Dr. Hoang Ngoc Tue - Head of School of Languages and Tourism said that continuous improvement and enhancement of training quality is always a key objective and requirement of the School. Empowering lecturers on outcome standard measurements according to ABET and AUN-QA standards is indispensable in the implementation of training development strategies. In addition, applying AI in designing teaching-learning activities and assessment helps lecturers improve training efficiency.

Dr. Lam Thanh Hien, Rector of LHU shared about measurements on the outcome standards of the training program according to ABET and AUN - QA quality accreditation standards, concurrently analyzed the importance of determining skills and knowledge to define students' outcome standards. Mr. Hien also introduced the software developed by LHU and its applications in measuring the program's outputs.

Also at the training session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Vice Rector of LHU presented how to evaluate the outputs of the training program according to AUN - QA standards such as: designing Bloom-based outcome standards; designing outcome-based detailed outlines; methods for assessing the module's outcome levels. His sharing has helped the School clearly understand the steps and assessment methods to measure the levels of the module's outputs as well as the training program's outputs.

Dr. Le Phuong Truong - Head of Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, LHU provided the School of Languages and Tourism's staff and lecturers with his experience of constantly studying and researching to upgrade the better "version" of teachers after each school year, paying special attention to IT applications, especially AI in designing teaching-learning activities with the motto "Technology cannot replace teachers, but it can replace teachers without technology using".

The training session took place successfully, meeting the set goals and requirements. The training has helped staff and lecturers of the School of Languages and Tourism learn about the measurements of the training program's outcome standards according to ABET, AUN - QA standards and the application of AI in designing teaching and learning activities.
