SMC Corporation sponsors billion dongs for LHU students

Recently, on the occasion of a ceremony to summarize and launch technology competitions for the 2023-2024 academic year, LHU leaders honored and presented a thank-you letter to express gratitude to SMC Corporation Vietnam Co., Ltd as a big sponsor of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics' students. SMC is a leading brand in the field of providing pneumatic equipment for automation industries based on the principle "Promoting automation, Saving energy and labor".

It is known that in 2023 the Company sponsored robot teams of LHU to participate in the 2023 Vietnam Robocon for more than 75 million VND. In 2024, SMC Corporation will transfer pneumatic equipment worth nearly 2.9 billion VND to LHU. Simultaneously, the Company continues to donate equipment for the 2024 Robocon activities.

• At the Job Fair 2023 held in June, Mr. Gerald Ho - General Director of SMC Corporation Vietnam Co. Ltd. and his colleagues attended and signed a MoU with LHU. The MoU aims to boost LHU - SMC cooperation in training and recruitment, and SMC will stand behind and "push the boat" for LHU students in technology competitions, especially donating learning facilities.

• Earlier, SMC directly visited and learned about the aspirations of the Faculty leaders and students, thereby providing devices such as valves, cylinders, sensors, pressure regulators... for robot design. Thanks to this, the robot team of LHU won the Second prize at the 2023 Vietnam Robot Contest. In this category, SMC sponsored LHU students a total amount of more than 75 million VND.

Dr. Pham Van Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics said "In the 2023 - 2024 school year, SMC will continue to accompany the Faculty's technology competitions such as Robocon, PLC control and sponsor pneumatic devices to serve students' projects. In early 2024, SMC Corporation will transfer equipment worth nearly 2.9 billion VND to operate the pneumatic practice room at LHU. In addition, SMC will continue to donate pneumatic equipment for the 2024 Robot Competition."

8 lecturers of the Faculty have completed a special training course at SMC

Reportedly, the pneumatic practice room project has gone half of the route and is expected to come into operation in early 2024. To help the Faculty's lecturers update new knowledge related to the operation of pneumatic equipment and practice room management, the Company had opened a training course on new pneumatic equipment as well as equipment maintenance procedures. Recently, 8 lecturers of the Faculty have completed the training course with experts of SMC.
