LHU wins First Prize at 2021 Creative Idea Contest

"AutoMov wheelchair support equipment" project from students of Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, LHU won First Prize (Student Panel) at the 2021 Creative Idea Contest finale which took place online on October 31.

Creative Idea Contest - CiC is an annual start-up ideas competition for pupils and students. The contest is a part of the chain of startup programs of Ho Chi Minh National University (VNU-HCM). This is a strategic task to actively contribute to the development of Thu Duc highly interactive creative city in the future. CiC 2021 is hosted by VNU-HCM Innovative Entrepreneurship Center (IEC) with the support from Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology and VNU-HCM Startup Support Fund. CiC 2021 attracted 320 projects with 1,000 contestants from 174 universities, colleges and high schools nationwide, approaching more than 700,000 pupils and students. The contestants went through 4 rounds in 7 months, participated in intensive training and coaching programs with the support of mentors. The top 10 best ideas of each panel were selected to compete for the championship prize at the final of CiC 2021.

CiC 2021 aims to inspire young generations on startup thinking, giving pupils and students experience and chances to improve skills and knowledge as well as a real-life experience environment.

The first winner of Student Panel received a prize of VND 50 million in cash, an one-year incubation package at the Information Technology Park - VNU-HCM (ITP) worth VND 100 million and a Web service support package from VNU.DC worth 2,000 USD, a package to visit and study in Singapore / Korea or equivalent. The second and third winners received VND 30 million and VND 10 million, respectively.

After the competition, the Organizing Committee will continue to support potential projects to call for investment capital, participate in start-ups and incubation programs of ITP and international partners.
