Lac Hong University triumphs at Shell Eco marathon Asia 2015

Lac Hong University's LH-Gold Energy team excellently won the first prize in Urban Concept vehicle category of Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2015 held in Manila, the Philippines between February 26 and March 1, 2015 after two years of participation. LH-Gold Energy was also the first team of Vietnam to triumph at the energy-efficiency vehicle competition after five participating years from 2010 to 2015. In addition, another team of Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education's team won the second prize in Prototype vehicle category.

LH-Gold Energy team has brought Vietnam the championship title after five consecutive years of participation.

This year's Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2015 attracted the participation of more than 129 teams from 17 countries and territories in the Asia region, vying for titles of the Urban Concept and Prototype vehicle categories. Overcoming technical tests, finally 80 teams were selected to enter the racing track. The completion officially took place on February 28 and March 1.

The LH-Gold Energy team won the championship at the competition with a result of 164.4 kilometers per liter of ethanol E100. The team were followed by the two teams from Indonesia at 102,6 km and 85,7km per liter of ethanol E100. Also, it brought home “Best video clip” award showing their research, design and operation processes.

Lac Hong is the first non-pubic university of Vietnam to participate in this contest, along with other pubic universities and colleges such as Ha Noi Polytechnic University (two teams) and Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Ho Chi Minh city University of Transport, Ha Noi University of Industry, The Central Vocational College of Transport No 3 and Ho Chi Minh University of Industry (two teams).
