More than VND 750 million awarded to disadvantaged students

Within the framework of the final round of the Southern Region Chinese Speaking Contest – the 2025 Cup of the Consulate General of China, LHU also awarded scholarships worth a total of VND 750,600,000 to 36 disadvantaged students. Depending on each student’s family circumstances, the scholarships ranged from VND 15,000,000 to VND 35,000,000.

A highlight of the scholarship award ceremony was the strong participation of the business community. With the support of 48 enterprises, nearly VND 800 million was contributed to the Scholarship Fund, providing valuable resources to expand learning opportunities and inspire students in the years to come. Their presence and collaboration also conveyed a clear message: education is not only the responsibility of the University but also a strong connection between the community, businesses, and the younger generation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh, Vice Rector of LHU, emphasized “For students in difficult circumstances, scholarships are not only material assistance but also an invaluable source of encouragement. Each scholarship awarded affirms that despite humble beginnings, they are still cared for, supported, and trusted by society".

Sharing at the ceremony, many students expressed that the scholarships not only ease financial burdens but also give them greater motivation to stay determined in pursuing their studies, nurturing their dreams, and affirming themselves in the future. 

As an entrepreneur and a key connector in expanding the Scholarship Fund for Disadvantaged Students, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, Head of LHU’s Office of International Affairs, remarked “Scholarships from businesses not only directly support students but also embody corporate social responsibility. They help strengthen the bridge between the University and the business community. In my view, this is also a way for businesses to invest in the future as today’s students will become tomorrow’s high-quality workforce, who contribute to the growth of enterprises".
