On September 12 morning, a delegation from the Consulate General of China in HCM City led by Mr. Xu Zhou - Deputy Consul General visited and awarded a scholarship package worth VND 100 million to students majoring in Chinese Language. This is the fourth year the Chinese Consulate General in HCM City has awarded scholarships to LHU students.
Welcoming the delegation, from LHU, there were Dr. Do Thi Lan Dai - Chairwoman of the University Council; DSc. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam - Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; Nguyen Thi Hoang Oanh, M.A - Head of the Office of International Affairs cum Vice Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies; Hoang Tien Dung, M.A - Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs; Phan The Anh, M.A - Head of Chinese Language Department; lecturers and more than 200 Chinese Language majors.
The event also saw the presence of Mr. Lu Bing - Head of the Education Office, Chinese Consulate General in HCM City; Mr. Tran Quoc Toan - Deputy Director of Dong Nai Province Department of Foreign Affairs.

For many years, the Chinese Consulate General and LHU have had many exchanges and cooperation programs, contributing to strengthening the friendship between Vietnam and China.
In 2020, the Chinese Consulate General sponsored LHU 100 million VND to organize the contest "Chinese Language Department's Got Talent 2020".
In 2022, the Chinese Consulate General presented LHU a multi-functional classroom (including 18 computers and smart electronic boards) worth 255 million VND; awarded 18 scholarships worth 180 million VND to Chinese Language majors with difficult circumstances; and sponsored the contest "Chinese Language Department's Got Talent 2022" with an amount of 120 million VND.
Also, in 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Consulate General in HCM city introduced two Chinese Language graduates to receive fully-funded Master's scholarships.
