More than VND 600 million on free health checkups for nearly 8,700 students

From October 1 to 15, 2026, LHU is providing free routine health checkups for nearly 8,700 students, including the 2026 intake and full-time students from other cohorts. The University is covering the entire cost, totaling more than VND 600 million. Each student's examination results are uploaded to their electronic health record on the VNeID app. The checkup program concludes on October 15, the same day Dong Nai City's 100-Day Campaign to Create Electronic Health Records comes to an end.

Nearly 8,700 students examined in 15 days without disrupting classes

Students do not have to pay any fees for the checkups. The full cost of more than VND 600 million comes from the University's budget. To complete the examinations within 15 days without affecting students' class schedules, the University's leadership directed the Office of Academic Affairs, faculties, and the Office of Student Affairs to coordinate class schedules and arrange suitable examination times for each faculty.

Students attend health checkups according to the schedule arranged by the University

Hall A301 at Campus 1 is used exclusively for the checkups throughout the program. The Office of Equipment Management and Supply and the Office of Student Affairs arrange waiting areas, specialist examination stations, and one-way walkways in accordance with the healthcare provider's requirements. At both parking areas on Campus 1, the university assigns additional parking staff and coordinators to direct students and maintain security and order during examination hours.

Supporting Dong Nai City's 100-day campaign to create electronic health records

To support the effective implementation of Dong Nai City's 100-day campaign to create and update electronic health records on the VNeID app through the integration of health examination, medical examination, and treatment data, LHU developed an implementation plan, conducted a survey, and selected a reputable healthcare provider. Once the plan was approved, information about the program was shared in classrooms and through LED screens, the university website, its fanpage, and the Me app to reach students across the university.

The program was widely publicized to students

On examination days, staff from the Office of Student Affairs and the University's Medical Team, together with collaborators, guide students through each step to ensure the process runs smoothly. The names of students who miss their scheduled appointments are sent to the Office of Student Affairss that make-up examinations can be arranged, ensuring that no student is left out. A summary report is submitted to the University's Board of Management within seven days of the program's completion.

After registering outside the hall, students line up inside to receive their examination forms

An electronic health record for every student

Under Plan No. 177/KH-UBND, issued by the Dong Nai City People's Committee on July 22, 2026, every person residing, studying, or working in the City is required to have an electronic health record on VNeID. The goal is to establish a unified personal health database that supports health management throughout each person's life. The plan requires each educational institution to organize health checkups for its learners. The data must be accurate, complete, clean, up to date, free of duplication, and verifiable against the National Population Database.

In line with these requirements, LHU selected its healthcare provider based on two criteria: compliance with the professional standards set by the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health, and the ability to connect its software directly to the health data portal and electronic health records on VNeID.

Each student undergoes physical assessments, clinical examinations in relevant specialties, and additional diagnostic tests when indicated. Students also receive a health classification and individual consultation. Examination results are entered into the system immediately after each appointment, allowing students to view their health records on their phones. The University's Medical Team uses this data to monitor students' health and provide advice throughout the academic year.

Students wait in line for their examinations in different disciplines

With nearly 8,700 students participating, LHU's health checkup program has significantly contributed to the City's target of ensuring that 100% of schools organize health examinations and complete the updating of students' health data.
