On March 13, SEAMEO Regional Training Center in Vietnam (SEAMEO RETRAC) in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO) and the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City organized the launching ceremony of the STEM-Focused EnglishWorks! program 2024. Representing LHU, Dang Thi, M.A - Vice Dean; along with some lecturers of the Faculty of English Language attended the event.

The program is managed, coordinated and implemented by SEAMEO RETRAC Center with the participation of 11 partners as universities and colleges nationwide. Among them, the Faculty of English Language, LHU is one of the units trusted and selected by SEAMEO RETRAC and the U.S. Consulate General to implement this Project.

At the opening ceremony, the LHU delegation was instructed in performing the work of program development, documentation, testing and evaluation to ensure effective program implementation. In addition, lecturers had the opportunity to participate in some workshops and discussions to clarify the concept of "EnglishWorks with STEM focus". This helps them adapt the curriculum to local characteristics, focusing on learners and supporting them to improve their English language skills in the working environment.

This is a meaningful educational cooperation program, contributing to enhancing the capacity of young workers, mainly in engineering, science and semiconductor technology for the local socio-economic development, particularly in the context of rapid development of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, semiconductor technology and high technology.
This is also an extremely great opportunity for young people in Dong Nai province to access the STEM-Focused EnglishWorks course.
The EnglishWorks 2024 class is completely free and will start enrollment in March and is scheduled to be opened in mid-April.
