Great advantages for LHU female engineering students

"Chang Shin will prioritize recruiting LHU female engineers to hold key positions" was the statement that Mr. Park Sei Youn - Human Resources Director of Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd. especially mentioned during his visit and working session with LHU on September 8, 2023.

"Female engineers have a big advantage since businesses need to balance their labor force structure, giving priority to women due to a very few women engineers. Highly skilled female technical workers are currently very worthy, especially in engineering", Mr. Park Sei Youn also emphasized. 

 Chang Shin Vietnam Co., Ltd's visit expected to open up many opportunities for LHU students

Mr. Park Sei Youn's sharing is a motivation for all female students studying engineering at LHU. Though the proportion of women in engineering-related fields is still low, the concept of women not studying engineering is gradually changing, and female students studying these career groups are increasing.

Mr. Pham Van Toan - Dean of Faculty of Mechatronics and Electronics, LHU said "Currently, for the engineering sector, the advantages between men and women are not much different, women even have more advantages. I myself have taught many female students, and found that they study better than male students."

According to Ms. Van Dinh Vy Phuong - Dean of Faculty of Information Technology, LHU, the job opportunities for female students are now very good, without distinction between men and women. Even factories like Intel, Nidec... prioritize recruiting women to take jobs in management, quality inspection, and R&D. The reason is because female engineers are meticulous and careful, so they are suitable for these jobs. The proof is that many female graduates of the IT Faculty have made great breakthroughs in their careers as team leaders and department heads of companies.

More and more female students studying Information Technology at LHU

In addition, Chang Shin's side proposed to support and create conditions for LHU female students, especially accepting their internships at the company. It will assign skillful engineers and specialized officials to LHU to teach and instruct students before their internships. On the other hand, to improve the qualifications of its staff, the Chang Shin company proposed to invite senior lecturers of LHU to participate in the capacity-building program for its resource officers. These contents will be soon included in a MoU which is expected to be signed and implemented in 2023.

"Each year, LHU establishes a Study Promotion Fund for female students by giving scholarships equivalent to 30% of tuition fees to those who major in Information Technology, Civil Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electromechanics, Food Science and Engineering... It especially donates 100% of tuition fees to students achieving the highest entrance scores and ones winning high prizes in Science and Technology competitions or excellent student contests at provincial or higher level", Mr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector of LHU shared.
