Opening ceremony of postgraduate program: 1st level Specialist Pharmacist

On August 12, 2023 LHU solemnly held the opening ceremony of 1st-level specialty training programme with the attendance of DSc. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh – Vice Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Van Hoa - Consultant in Pharmaceutical Management; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Dung - Consultant in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy along with leaders of Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Postgraduate Studies, Office of Academic Affairs and Center of Admissions and Public Relations.

This is the first intake of the 1st level Specialist Pharmacist program. The program includes two majors: Pharmaceutical Management; Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy.

Reportedly, 50 students will be enrolled in each major/year with continuous training form at the University. The tuition fee is 100 million VND/course. After 2 years, qualified students will be granted specialty certifications managed and issued by the Ministry of Health nationwide.

The major in Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy consists of 75 credits. Candidates must have a BS in Pharmacy and a practising certificate in Clinical Pharmacology. A certificate of at least 12-month working seniority signed by the Head of medical clinic is required for a practising certificate in Pharmacy.

Meanwhile, the Pharmaceutical Management major includes 68 credits. Candidates must have a BS in Pharmacy and a practising certificate in Pharmacy or a certificate of working time at least 12 months after graduation.

Speaking at the ceremony, DSc. Lam Thanh Hien said “The Faculty of Pharmacy officially trained its first course in 2012. After more than 10 years of establishment and development, the Faculty has become a prestigious and quality training address providing qualified human resources for large hospitals, medical facilities, enterprises,... It can be said 2023 is the starting year of many comprehensive educational goals and orientations. Today's event marks the birth of the 1st-level specialty program at LHU and the trust of choosing LHU as a place for you all to continue your studies and improve qualifications."
