LHU hosts SWPEA 2023

On April 21 morning, LHU hosted the 2023 Spring Workshop on Power Electronics and Applications (SWPEA 2023) which was co-organized by LHU, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Dong Nai University, the Korean Institute of Power Electronics – Vietnam Chapter and Vietnam Power Electronics Community. The SWPEA 2023 will take place from April 20 - 21.

The workshop is held annually, aiming to provide a scientific research forum in the development of power electronics and its related areas. 

The event saw the presence of DSc. Lam Thanh Hien – Rector of LHU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector of LHU; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Nho, VNUHCM - University of Technology; Dr. Pham Minh Tien, Dong Nai University; Dr. Vo Quang Lam - Vice General Director of Vietnam Electricity.

Nearly 100 domestic and foreign scientists, graduate students, PhD students and visitors attended and listened to important papers at the plenary session which was also broadcast live via Zoom for members of the Korean Institute of Power Electronics – Vietnam Chapter and Vietnam Power Electronics Community to attend and follow the program.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Vu Quynh - Vice Rector of LHU, Deputy Head of the Organizers, Co-Chairs of the SWPEA2023 Program Committee said that the Committee took nearly 8 months to prepare with the active support of lecturers from many different universities. The Program Committee reviewed submitted papers, gave suggestions to authors to edit and complete 44 excellent articles for presentations at 9 reporting sessions, including 1 online and 8 face-to-face sessions.

The workshop's success is also contributed by Vietnam Electricity – EVN; Hioki Company, Mun Hean Vietnam Company, Pitek Engineering Co.,Ltd and Rigol Company as primary sponsors.

The workshop is an opportunity for scientists, lecturers, students, .... to share, exchange, and collaborate on scientific research issues, particularly in the field of power electronics and applications 

This is an opportunity for researchers, lecturers, students,... to exchange academic knowledge, experiences as well as seek cooperation from businesses and the community. The workshop covers many topics related to power electronics including Electronic components, power and applications; Power conversion structure, modulation and control method; Renewable energy; Energy storage system, wireless power transmission; Smart grid and related issues.

The articles presented at the SWPEA 2023 will be printed for students' references. Proceedings of the SWPEA with ISBN index will be issued by the Publication, Printing and Distribution Department of the Ministry of Information and Communications. 

Projects were exhibited at breakout sessions

As planned, on the first day, participants of the workshop will listen to important reports at the plenary session and then move to breakout sessions. On April 22, the attending delegates will visit some enterprises in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park.
