The 2nd Start-up with Lac Hong students to be held

The final round of the contest “2nd Start-up with Lac Hong students” just took place yesterday at Campus 1 - LHU, seeing the competition of the five best start-up projects selected from 31 projects of 82 registered students.

The finale saw the presence of Dong Nai Department of Science and Technology including Mr. Doan Hung Minh - Director of Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances and Mr.  Nguyen Quoc Cuong - Head of Training Consultancy Department, LHU Management Board including Rector Do Huu Tai and Vice Rector Diep Cam Thu, leaders of Faculties and representatives of units, lecturers, staff and nearly 500 students at all levels.

Speaking at the final competition, Rector Do Huu Tai emphasized start-up ideas must be formed in students when entering university, to help students towards the goal of self-employment, then promoting socio-economic development. In particular, the University would support feasible projects judged by the jury. Specifically, each project would be loaned by the University without interest of which 50% fully supported. This is really a good signal for projects, because capital is always the biggest concern of students when starting businesses.

The final round of the competition consisted of two rounds: Round 1 - Presenting the business project and Round 2 - Solving the situation. At the end of the first round, the jury selected the three outstanding teams with highly feasible and impressive projects to go the second round. Especially, Bo Cong Anh team with the project "Decoration shop - Souvenirs" convinced Mr. Pham The Linh - Member of the jury who agreed to lend VND 200 million to implement this project. As a result, the First prize worth VND 10 million belonged to 4CE team with the project "Producing and trading supporting products to treat chronic diseases from Clinacanthus nutans by the Organic standards". The Second and Third prizes belonged to 3D Plus team and Bo Cong Anh team, respectively.

Ending the contest, Dean of Faculty of International Economics Nguyen Van Tan - Head of the Training Board of the Southern Start-up Support and Advisory Board said that these teams would be supported by the University to implement the projects in reality. In addition, the University would plan to select and develop projects to continue to participate in competitions such as national, regional Start-ups, innovation Start-ups, ... This was a great opportunity for students to mobilize capital to deploy the projects.
