LHU to work with KoCham and SNTEK Group

Recently, a delegation from the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KoCham) and SNTEK Group visited and exchanged the opportunity to cooperate with LHU. The working session took place at the Center for Scientific Research and Application - Campus 6.

Mr. Choi Bundo - Chairman of PTV Group - Vice Chairman of KoCham presented the development of machinery manufacturing field in Korea.

Receiving the delegation was Standing Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien, Head of International Relations Department Nguyen Thanh Lam, leaders of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty and Oriental Studies Faculty. The delegation included Mr. Choi Bundo - Chairman of PTV Group - Vice Chairman of KoCham, Mr. Ahn Kyoung Joon - Chairman of SNTEK Group, Mr. Dong Kil - Director of Finance of SNTEK Group and Mr. Choi Rino - Prof. Dr. of Faculty of Materials Science and Technology, Inha University (Korea).

The working session focused on the proposal of the SNTEK Group for opening Centers for training engineers to manufacture and operate equipment ... thereby giving students better career opportunities.

According to Dr. Ahn Kyoung Joon, SNTEK is a company specializing in manufacturing machinery for cars and energy batteries producing companies. Presently, these enterprises tend to invest in Vietnam. Under the support of KoCham, in the coming time, he hopes to bring this field back to Vietnam to directly produce and supply machinery for businesses here, avoiding the import. Even when the equipment is imported, it needs a team of engineers to operate. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to have engineers training centers. With LHU advantage in training engineering majors, especially in Manufacturing Engineering, SNTEK wishes to receive the cooperation of the University. On the other hand, LHU trains Korean Studies major, the development cooperation of the two units will be more favorable.

The delegation visited the lab rooms of LHU students.

Through the working session, Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien said that the University also wished to make more equipment for production. In fact, it has transfered a lot of production equipment for Japanese and Korean businesses in the region. The University is willing to join in the project of engineers training centers. This is also a good career opportunity for students.

Besides the project of engineers training centers, the both sides promised to open more directions for Korean Studies major.

Reportedly, the two sides will discuss specific directions to prepare for the birth of the Center in the next working session at the end of February. In addition, the project of training Korean language for engineering lecturers and students who join in practical training at SNTEK will be expected to be established soon.
