LHU successfully held the 26th Science and Technology Festival

The 26th LHU Science and Technology Festival was successfully held in the morning of June 15 at campus 1 - LHU. The festival saw the presentation of 31 papers reported by LHU lecturers and students.

The festival was attended by Secretary of Party Committee Nguyen Trung Phuong; People's Teacher Dr. Do Huu Tai - Rector; DSc. Lam Thanh Hien - Standing Vice Rector; Mr. Tran Duc Su - Deputy Director of Young Science and Technology Development Center - Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Mr. Giang Van Vu - Vice Manager of Dong Nai provincial Science and Technology Department's Profession Management;  LHU representatives of departments and units and a large number of scientists, lecturers and students.

The festival this time was divided into seven subcommittees with 31 papers including 18 in student category and 13 in lecturer category.

Speaking at the festival, Rector Do Huu Tai specially stressed that "Scientific research is one the most important activities of lecturers and students at universities and colleges. This intellectual activity helps students apply methodology and scientific research method in learning and in practice, equipping students with abilities of creative thought and criticism, rejecting or proving different points of views scientifically... For LHU, in addition to increasing training quality, the University Management Board pays special attention to research activities of lecturers and students, promoting investment and encouragement for this activity to gain best quality."

On behalf of LHU Management Board, Rector Do Huu Tai awards certificates of merit to authors whose projects won scientific research awards at all levels.

For the past ten years, together with 36 scientific research conferences of both lecturers and students, LHU scientific research and technology creation movement has become an ebullient activity and a light point in training, research which the society recognizes and highly appreciates science and applications, contributing to meet the community's enjoying need.

In the opening part of the festival, the Organization Board awarded certificates of merit to LH-Gold Energy team for its championship title at Shell Eco-Marathon 2016 signed by Dong Nai provincial People's Committee. Also, Head of Scientific Research Department Nguyen Vu Quynh passed through decisions to bestow merit to authors who won at Vifotec 2015, Dong Nai provincial Technical Creation Contest, 9th Dong Nai Technical Skill Competition, 6th Ho Chi Minh City Creative Youth Festival, 2015 Award for Youth who suggest solutions and creative ideas for energy saving and 17th Eureka Prize for Student Scientific Research 2015.
