Founder of ABU Robocon visited LHU

Recently, Prof. Masashi Shimizu or Dr. Robocon - the founder of ABU Robocon Contest promoted by NHK Television Station visited LHU and joined in some activities with students of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty before their setting up for the national competition.

Prof. Masashi Shimizu explained the meaning of Robot contest.

Also, to mark the 15th establishment of ABU Robocon, Vietnam Television Station has carried out a newspaper report on achievements robot contests have brought to students. The reportage is also a story telling about the journey to conquer robocon making challenge as well as research movement of Robocon Lac Hong.

Before outstanding achievements of Robocon Lac Hong at National Robot Contests and ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contests, Vietnam Television Station has proposed to make a report to learn about benefits robot contests have brought to students of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty - LHU in particular and student generations in general. All that day's afternoon Prof. Shimizu and Vietnam Television Station had an interesting working session with LHU robot teams.

Prof. Shimizu visited laboratories of Mechatronics - Electronics Faculty and made many precious contributions.

At the working session, Le Hoang Anh - one of student generations grown-up from robocon movement shared with all participants his experience and achievements benefited from robot creativity. Especially, he revealed the journey the University has experienced robot contests, steps to take students to robocon seasons from launching contests, arousing passion, investing equipment and facilities helping students uphold their creativity.

Also, joining in activities were some technology lovers from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education. Telling the secret that helped LHU win victory in the past years, Head of Robocon delegation Lam Thanh Hien - Vice Rector shared about the technology the University has applied as well as methods to apply it into robot creating suitable for requirements and robot theme of each season. He specially emphasized man element, the delicacy in collecting power and intelligence of students in right position to prove common strength.

After a day of visiting and learning about the training activity as well as robocon movement of the University, especially practical activities at Robot Making Center, the professor has made compliment as well as sincere contributions to these students of LHU, The presence of the ABU Robocon founder is really a great encouragement for the University and for each members of robot teams, accordingly giving more strength to teams before competition ahead.
