2015 Alumni Reunion to be held

The 2015 Alumni Reunion was held at Room B 203 on May 30 with the attendance of Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien, representatives of departments and units and nearly 150 representative alumni of courses 1997 to 2009.

Head of Alumni Liaison Committee Tran Dung made a summary report at the event.

Opening the reunion, Tran Dung, M.A – Director of Enterprise Relation – Student Support Center - Head of Alumni Liaison Committee reviewed Committee’s activities of tenure 2013 - 2015. Before voting the new Committee, tenure 2015 - 2020, participating alumni shared and communicated knowledge and experience with later student generations. Also at the reunion, the participants ardently discussed some issues including Mutual support in learning, real life and business production; Establishment of practical activities in order to help students’ lives, apprenticeship, employment; Suggestions to build the University at all aspects from teaching, learning; How to enhance the training effectiveness meeting companies’ requirements and How to keep more effective relation between the University and companies via alumni.

Vice Rector Lam Thanh Hien delivered a speech at the Alumni Reunion.

"Nearly 20 years, thousands of students have graduated from this University, remarkably contributing to national and provincial economy. Many of them are keeping important positions at companies and state agencies. A lot of alumni are lecturers of colleges and universities. Then alumni generations come back to school to contribute and make suggestions in training and human resources recruitment,... This really gives invisible strength to the University sustainable development..." said Tran Dung.

In his speech, Mr .Vu Duc Huan – Human Resources Manager of Bien Hoa Agriculture Bank – alumnus of Finance - Banking Faculty said “As a role of an alumnus and also a former postgraduate, I really hope the University alumni network will be more extended, firstly to offer experience to later students, secondly to support each other in society. I have to say that each individual, in addition to bringing him a bright future but also contributing to be the pride of LHU students".

Currently, many alumni of LHU are holding key positions at enterprises and government agencies. Some are Deans and Vice Deans of the University units. This helps to raise the University brand name to a higher level.
