LHU honored at Youth Science and Technology Conference

In the afternoon of May 18, a ceremony was held in Ha Noi to honor and award prizes of the 7th Youth Science and Technology Conference among Vietnamese medicine and pharmacy universities and colleges organized by the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Military Medical Academy and the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

The Youth Science and Technology Conference was kicked off on May 17 at the Military Medical Academy, attracting the participation of 150 speakers coming from 25 medicine and pharmacy universities, colleges, and academies across the country.

At the awarding ceremony, the Ministry of Health has awarded certificates of merit to nine best scientific reports of five schools including Military Medical Academy; Ha Noi Medical University; Ha Noi University of Pharmacy;  Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy and Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine and Pharmacy. In addition, the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union presented Campaign Medal for the Youth to 33 individuals and awarded 28 first, 52 second, 61 third prizes to excellent speakers.   Attending the awarding ceremony was leaders of the Ministry of Health,  the Central Committee of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, representatives of Lac Hong University, student delegates, young scientists coming from 25 nationwide medicine and pharmacy training units. Lac Hong University firstly participated the conference with 4 topics and gained three second and one third prizes. Specifically, Cao Van Du, MS - Vice Dean of Chemical and Food Engineering; Mai Huong Tra, MS - Lecturer of Biotechnology and Environment Faculty and Pharmacist Le Ngoc Thanh Nhan - Lecturer of Pharmacy Faculty received second prizes. Le Ngoc Thanh Nhan was also awarded third prize at the ceremony.

According to Lieutenant General Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Binh - Director of Military Medical Academy, this conference was different from other previous ones. There was a change in marking and considering prizes. This change aimed to enhance the quality of projects and encourage young scientist to continue to carry out more research. Another difference was that the Organizing Board invited experienced teachers as leading experts to make the Board of Jury. Therefore, the result was objective. "150 topics are divided into nine specialized boards, creating a playground for speakers to show their abilities. Through this conference, the number and quality of topics are increasing. This is thanks to high attention to training and cultivating young cadres of medical and pharmacy schools. The ooutstanding point in this conference is that reported works have high practical application." affirmed Nguyen Tien Binh.
