Launching ceremony to support poor people on Tet holidays

In response to the program “Tet for the poor” launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and to show youth's responsibilities to the community, in the morning of January 16, at the campus 2 - LHU's Faculty of International Economics Administration organized launching ceremony to support poor households, singer people, orphaned and disable children on occasion of Tet 2014.

Attending the ceremony was the presence of Dr. Nguyen Van Tan – Dean of the faculty; Nguyen Thi Lan Thanh, M.A - Vice Dean; Comrade; Tran Ngoc Thuy – Secretary of the cell 8; Comrade Le Son Quang – Secretary of the University Youth Union; Comrade Ngo Thi Kim Anh - Secretary of Faculty Youth Union (FYU); Comrade Nguyen Ca Le Thuan - Chairman of Faculty Student Association - Vice Secretary of FYU; Nguyen Thi Ngu Quynh -  Vice Secretary of FYU and the great participation of teachers, staff and students at all levels..

In his speech, Secretary of Youth Union Le Son Quang praised efforts and contributions the faculty’s cadres, members of Youth Union and Student Association have made over the past time and also awarded an honor flag to the Executive Committee of Youth Union and appealed to young people for the voluntary .

Also at the ceremony, on behalf of the Faculty Managing Board, Dr. Nguyen Van Tan expressed his hope that the charity program would partly help poor households and single people to have a warm and full Tet.

After nearly one month to raise money, the FYU has collected more than VND 40 million. The Organizing Board has used this money to prepare 15 gifts including cash, instant noodles, rice, salt, sugar, confectionery, ….. to support 15 poor families in Buu Long and some areas of Vinh Cuu district. In the coming days, the Executive Committee of FYU - Student Association will visit and present gifts to the elderly and orphaned and handicapped children at the locality.

After this ceremony, the great number of teachers, Youth Union – Student Association members, and students will be present at poor families in localities. There they will join in practical activities like tidying up and  decorating houses to welcome Tet, offering gifts, distributing new clothes to children and visiting old people,...
