ACCELERATING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION INITIATIVES
AND ADVANCING SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION
More than 400 primary school teachers from 6 schools across Dong Nai province have successfully completed a specialized training course on “Applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Primary Education.” This pioneering initiative marks a significant stride in enhancing educational quality and fostering sustainable development within the academic community. The program, organized by the Southern Human Resources Development Institute in close collaboration with Lac Hong University, underscores a shared commitment to educational innovation driven by technology.
AI: Bridging Pedagogy and Modern Technology
In the rapidly evolving landscape of global education, characterized by a strong shift towards digitalization, equipping educators with technological competencies has become a pivotal factor. This training program benefited from the invaluable insights of leading experts from Lac Hong University, including Dr. Le Phuong Truong, Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance, and M.A. Ngo Dinh Hoang Diem, Deputy Head of the Office of Educational Testing and Quality Assurance. The speakers delivered profound and practical insights into integrating AI into teaching, spanning foundational theories to real-world classroom applications.
A key highlight of the training course was the hands-on guidance provided to teachers on designing AI-integrated lesson plans – encompassing creating lesson summaries, systematizing content, and developing interactive assessments and high-quality digital learning materials. The more than 400 innovative products created directly in the classroom serve as a vivid testament to the program's immediate impact and effectiveness. Crucially, these high-quality resources are being made publicly available, empowering other educators not present at the training to access and learn from these practical applications. This commitment to knowledge sharing ensures a broader dissemination of best practices, amplifying the program's reach and fostering a wider community of practice in AI-integrated teaching. Beyond technical content, the program also garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participating teachers. This positive reception fuels anticipation for subsequent, in-depth courses that will deliver even greater practical value in the ongoing journey of modernizing education.
Spreading Sustainable Values in Education and Community
The specialized training course on "Applying AI in Primary Education" unequivocally demonstrates a strong commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
By enhancing the technological capabilities of over 400 teachers, the program actively promotes quality education, fosters lifelong learning, and encourages continuous professional development within the evolving digital education landscape. Equipping educators with digital literacy and a sustainability mindset, the initiative indirectly champions sustainable practices within the school environment, thereby contributing to the creation of broader, sustainable communities.
Concurrently, the collaborative model between the Southern Human Resources Development Institute and Lac Hong University serves as a prime example of partnerships for the goals (SDG 17), fostering knowledge sharing and propagating a mindset of "education for sustainable development." This represents a concrete advancement in shaping a generation of digitally adept citizens with a global perspective and the capacity for community-driven action.
